Meetup is a way to organize online to meet face-to-face with those geographically close to you.
McKenzie Neighbors Meetup brings together valley residents in healthy, fun activities. We go for walks; picnics; boating; to shows in town, events, yard sales, and festivals; do crafts with friends; volunteer to help various local organizations; play ping pong and other games. Whatever you want to do with others, you can post it on Meetup and see who wants to join you!
First you join Meetup, and give them your name, email address and zip code. (No one will be able to see your email address.) Meetup proposes various Meetup groups close to you – many will probably be in Eugene. Scroll through until you see McKenzie Neighbors Meetup. When you click on it, you will see an upcoming event – maybe a walk, maybe ping pong – whatever is next on the calendar.
You will see a red button that says, “Join us!” This gets a little confusing. Clicking that button means that you will now get emails about all McKenzie Neighbors upcoming events. It does NOT mean that you are saying you will go to that particular event (the walk, or whatever is proposed on the screen.)
Once you have clicked the red “Join Us” button (which you only do one time), THEN you are a member of the McKenzie Neighbors Meetup. And then you can RSVP to individual events. You can attend as many or as few events as you choose.
Most events are free or low-cost. Joining Meetup, and the McKenzie Neighbors Meetup is free. Join us!
