Mason Bee Harvesting Workshop

Mason Bee Harvesting with Rich Little Fall is the time to bring in your Mason Bee Cocoons, wash and store them for the winter.
Rich will discuss the how’s and why’s of accomplishing this task, the life cycle of Mason Bees, and offer tips on how to successfully manage Mason Bee husbandry.
Bring in your own bee blocks or use the ones we provide to practice cleaning mason bee cocoons.
We provide the tools and instruction.
Beginner and experienced mason beekeepers welcome!
Workshop is free, pre-registration for one of the sessions is required to attend.
After Rich retired as a Deputy Agriculture Commissioner with the Department of Food & Agriculture with County of San Luis Obispo in California, he moved to Oregon & became a Oregon Master Gardener in 2011. Rich currently is a volunteer Instructor for Extension Service & Master Gardener program. In 2014 Rich served on the Oregon Joint Interim Task Force on Pollinator Health (HB 4139). In 2015 he helped create BEEvent pollinator conference, now the largest pollinator conference in the PNW. In 2019 Oregon State University awarded Rich the OSU Extension Service Cooperator award. Rich is a Co-author of OSU Extension Service publication on Mason Bees: “Nurturing Mason Bees in Your Backyard in Western Oregon”
