2024 Seedling and Native Plant Sale
January 3, 2024 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

The Lane County Chapter of Oregon Small Woodlands Association will host its Annual Seedling & Native Plant Sale on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at Alton Baker Park (100 Day Island Road, Eugene – Building B: east end of the park). Hours are 8:00 to 11:00 or until sold out (please arrive early to receive a number for entrance – sales are on a first come first serve).
While waiting to enter pavilion, Oregon Dept. of Forestry representative, Dan Menk, Stewardship Forester with Oregon Department of Forestry, and Lauren Grand, OSU Extension Forester, will be on hand to answer questions.
Once the sale begins, folks will be asked to enter as numbers are called.
This annual popular event offers a range of bare root/plug native seedling trees and native bare root plants, and potted Oregon White Oak.
Due to limited supply from the nurseries, some species will sell out early.
To provide seedlings for those coming to the sale, a limit of 100 maximum of each species will be in place from 8:00-9:00 (Douglas-fir does not have a limit).
After 9:00 any quantity can be acquired. (Thanks for the understanding; the last few years some early purchasers took every single tree available; this is an attempt to provide trees and plants to as many folks as possible).
*Tree species include:
Douglas-fir $1.50, Noble fir $2.00, Western Red Cedar $1.75, Incense-cedar $2.00, Giant Sequoia $2.00, Coastal Redwood $1.75, Grand fir $1.75, Turkish Fir $2.75, Colorado Blue Spruce $1.75, Willamette Valley Ponderosa Pine $2.00, Oregon White Oak (2 gallon pots) $20.00, and Willow Cuttings $1.50.
* Native (bare root) plants include:
Nuka Rose, Snowberry, Douglas Spirea, Thimbleberry, Mock Orange, Flowering Red Current, Red Twig Dogwood; all $3.00.
Vexar tubes, sunshades and seed mixes from River Refuge Seed also be available.
NOTE: Payment only by cash and check.
Plan to be outside without cover available at times, and expect to observe requirements as indicated by the Oregon Health Authority for social distancing if needed.
Bringing bags/boxes to take items procured is appreciated.
Lane County Oregon Small Woodland Association’s annual (first Saturday in February) seedling sale is a fundraising event with proceeds going to support local forestry and woodland education.
Membership opportunity available at the sale or visit Oregon Small Woodlands website at https://oswa.org/join-or-renew.
*Orders are placed months in advance of the sale (all from certified nurseries). Due to weather and other conditions, the nurseries cannot guarantee availability; if coming for a specific tree/shrub, it might not be available.
