Community GMRS Radio System Meeting

As we build on our preparedness meeting from last month, McKenzie Fire will host a GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) information session on Sat. April 20th from 10am to noon @ the McKenzie Fire Training Facility in Leaburg.
This session will include information from Craig Myers – owner of My-Comm (a local radio communications business in Springfield), as well as the McKenzie Community Communications (MCC) group – The local group charged with the build out and organization of GMRS in the area.
We will also discuss how individual local “neighborhood” groups are the backbone of this system, how the MCC is organizing local collaboration through repeater systems, and how individual users can get prepared, understand, and help.
