McKenzie River Locals Helping Locals P.R.E.P. Event

McKenzie Locals Helping Locals is inviting our McKenzie Community to a series of presentations we have titled P.R.E.P, which stands for Plan, Resilient, Educate, and Prepare.

The purpose of the presentations is to offer our community the opportunity to learn about the many aspects of fire management in our river valley and subsequently scheduled in cooperation with McKenzie River Ranger District, McKenzie Fire and Rescue, Upper McKenzie Fire, Oregon Department of Forestry, McKenzie Valley Long Term Recovery Group, Lane Electric, EWEB, Lane County Emergency Management, Lane County Sheriff, and other organizations.
The first session, scheduled for March 16th at the Upper McKenzie Community Center from 1-3pm will focus on Initial Fire Attack procedures from the above agencies and organizations.
The second session on Saturday April 13th from 1-3pm at the Leaburg Fire Station will focus on prescribed burning and fire levels.
A third session is scheduled at the McKenzie School on Tuesday May 7th from 6-8pm with emphasis on evacuation procedures and extended fire attack.
A fourth session at Leaburg Fire Station on June 11 from 6-8pm will present how to prepare for fire events including defensible space management. 
Please plan to join us in these interactive and informative sessions as we work toward  becoming more Resilient, Educated, and Prepared for future fire events.
