Wildflower Walk: Restoration at Coyote Spencer Wetlands

May 29 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join the McKenzie River Trust Land Stewards for an immersive tour of the Coyote Spencer Wetlands, a 225-acre conservation area located near Crow, Oregon. This area is characterized by diverse habitats, including mixed forests and wet meadows, offering a glimpse into the historic landscape of the Willamette Valley.

Thursday, May 29th | 6:00-8:00pm

During this 2-mile walking tour, participants will learn about the ongoing restoration efforts to preserve and enhance these vital ecosystems. The wetlands serve as a sanctuary for various native plants and animals, including rare species such as Bradshaw’s lomatium, Oregon delphinium, and thin-leaved peavine. The area also functions as a wildlife corridor for species like bear, bobcat, and elk.
As we traverse the wetlands, we will identify and appreciate the vibrant wildflowers that flourish in this rare wetland habitat.
Embark on this journey to witness the beauty and significance of the Coyote Spencer Wetlands and the dedicated efforts to preserve its ecological integrity for future generations.
Wear sturdy walking shoes that can get wet, as we will be walking on a mix of rocky roads and meadows.
Coyote Spencer Wetlands is located on Kalapuya Ilihi, the homeplace of the Kalapuya peoples who stewarded these lands and rivers before us.
