Oregon Housing and Community Services released a draft plan for $422 million in disaster recovery grant funds intended to help communities and residents recover from the 2020 Labor Day fires.
This effort, which is called “ReOregon,” will provide new permanent housing in the areas most impacted by the fires.
A public hearing is set for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, in the McKenzie School New Gym (51887 Blue River Drive). Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
As part of the rules for the disaster recovery grant, HUD must first approve the state’s Action Plan describing how the money will be spent before giving Oregon the funds. Through June 1, OHCS will be accepting public comment on that Action Plan. A final plan will be submitted to HUD on June 8.
