UPDATE – Emergency RV Placement Permit Fees Waived

This service is only for those needing a permit to locate and hook up their RV as an Emergency Temporary Dwelling and NOT any other type of permit related to rebuilding.

To help, advise and issue permits for Temporary Emergency RV/Trailer placement + septic and electric hookups to residents of the McKenzie Valley returning to their properties after the Holiday Farm, Lane County will be at the McKenzie Fire Station in Leaburg on the 23 & 30 October then the 6 Nov. After that there will be a new annex opened further upriver.

Below is a handout regarding RV use on private property in relation to the Holiday Farm Fire.

Notice from Lane County

This type of permit may be issued on a limited basis for:

  1. Temporary living quarters following a physical emergency on
the property caused by flood, fire or other disaster.
  2. Temporary living quarters during the construction of a
dwelling or mobile home placement, if a permit has been
    issued for that development.

Lane County, Land Management Division (LMD) is opening an annex today at the McKenzie Fire Station in Leaburg, 42870 McKenzie Hwy. We will be open to issue permits for the Temporary Emergency RV use related to the Holiday Farm Fire. As mentioned in the handout, fees are being waived to help residents return to their property.

The potential impact to the community is important in allowing residents to be on their property while at the same time helping to protect the community, by addressing the location of the RV’s. More specifically, it is important that emergency responders and medical responders are able to locate residents in case of medical or other emergency; locating the Rv’s to protect the watershed: and to assure that sanitation concerns are being addressed. The permits also provide documentation of approval that is beneficial where complaints are being made and may helpful regarding insurance claims. (we have already received a number of complaints regarding RVs on property in the fire area). We will have a cell phone at the annex: 541-852-9755 and further inquiries can be made to Steve McGuire at steve.mcguire@co.lane.or.us
