What is disaster case management? Disaster case management helps people recover from disasters. Disaster case managers work closely with a survivor to create a plan to achieve the survivor’s recovery goals after a disaster.

A Disaster Case Manager (DCM) can help survivors:

  • Connect to community resources, such as interim and permanent housing, household supplies, counseling, food and medical

  • Recover documents and fill out needed applications

  • Provide up to date information about laws and regulations on rebuilding

  • Advocate for the survivor’s needs and remove barriers to recovery

  • Access funds for costs not covered by FEMA, insurance, or other community resources

  • Present financial, material or labor needs to the Unmet Needs Committee of the McKenzie Long Term Recovery Group

Who qualifies? Anyone who was impacted by the 2020 wildfires and could benefit from the support of a DCM. There is no income limit and you do not have to be registered with FEMA or the American Red Cross.

Is there a waitlist? No.

What can you expect? Survivors meet with a DCM to verify the person was impacted by the 2020 wildfires. Survivors sign a release-of-information form for anyone they wish the DCM to contact on their behalf. The survivor and DCM make a recovery plan together, based on the survivor’s specific needs and goals. The survivor will then remain in contact with the DCM as often as needed.

Call 833-669-0554 to get connected.

Or meet with a DCM in person:

  • DCMs are looking for a new space to meet with survivors after June 16. Until a new space is announced, survivors can check in with Terra Ralph if they don’t yet have a DCM or don’t have the contact information for the DCM with whom they are working. Terra can be reached at 971-388-9081 or Terra.L.Ralph@dhsoha.state.or.us.

  • DCMs are also available to meet in person by appointment.
