Vida McKenzie Community Center Hosts Wedding Open House Tour
Are you dreaming of a breathtaking wedding set against the stunning backdrop of the McKenzie River? If so, mark your calendars for an exclusive opportunity to explore some of the region’s most picturesque venues at the McKenzie River Wedding Open House on Friday, March 14th, from 3-7 PM, and Saturday, March 15th, from 10 AM-3 PM.

Whether you’re newly engaged or finalizing your venue selection, this event is the perfect chance to envision your wedding in one of the most scenic locations in Lane County.
Guests will be treated to a delightful experience, featuring wine by McKenzie Crest, appetizers, and delectable cake bites by Soft Peaks Cakery.
Beyond the Vida McKenzie Community Center venue, this event represents something much larger—a community-wide initiative to showcase the incredible wedding venues along the McKenzie River.
A Community-Wide Celebration of Love and Local Venues

The inspiration for this event came from Gerry Aster, Vice President of the VMCC, who attended Love in Lane County, an intimate wedding showcase that highlights the best wedding vendors in the region. After meeting numerous prospective couples, Gerry had a vision:
“Let’s make it worth their while and host an open house with ALL the venues up here so everyone can meet each other.”
What started as a single open house quickly blossomed into a collaborative effort among multiple venues along the McKenzie River. The goal is to highlight the unique charm of each location, ensuring that couples looking to tie the knot have a variety of stunning options to consider.

The VMCC is one of several venues participating in this event.
Other featured venues include:
- Walterville Community Center (open Friday event hours and Saturday from 10 AM-12 PM)
- Millican Barn & Timber Company
- Gate Creek Ranch
- Eagle Rock Lodge
- Upper McKenzie Community Center
- Horse Creek Lodge
Each venue offers its own unique charm and setting, giving couples a variety of stunning options to explore for their special day.

A Growing Tradition for the McKenzie Community
The McKenzie River has long been a sought-after wedding destination, offering breathtaking scenery, from majestic mountains to tranquil waters. Gerry and the VMCC team hope this event will become an annual tradition, potentially expanding into seasonal venue tours in the spring and fall.
Beyond just weddings, this initiative aligns with the 60-Mile Main Street program, a community-driven effort to support local businesses and strengthen tourism along the McKenzie corridor.
By coming together, venues, vendors, and community members can showcase the beauty and hospitality that make this area so special.
