Survey – Bike Needs on County Roads

Lane County needs help from Rural Households about their Walking, Biking, and Rolling needs on specific county roads

(scooters, strollers, roller skates, wheelchairs and other forms of mobility-assist devices)

Bicycling has been a popular mode of transportation in our area for quite some time. We know many rural communities use Lane County roads every day to access resources like getting to school, work, or grocery stores. To improve safety for all road travelers, Lane County has identified certain roads that need shoulder widening for the safety of all two-wheel travelers. Lane County wants to learn more from rural residents through a community survey.

Your response will help Lane County make better decisions about where to focus our limited resources to make the biggest difference. Please be a part of helping our residents stay safe on the roads!

When you complete the survey, you enter to win an e-bike or a $100 grocery gift card! The survey, is designed to collect information from rural households about their walking, biking, and rolling (scooters, strollers, roller skates, wheelchairs and other forms of mobility-assist devices) needs on specific County roads that are identified as priority corridors in the Lane County Bicycle Master Plan (LC BMP). Paper copies of the survey are also being translated and distributed through community organization throughout rural Lane County.

Any questions can be emailed to Becky Taylor, Senior Transportation Planner:

Editor’s Note: I went to take the survey and discovered that the designated roads they are working on are not in the McKenzie River communities. We could certainly use bike lanes up Hwy 126 (but that’s ODOT and not the county. The community has asked for a bike/walking path down Blue River Drive in Blue River which is being considered in the county’s Blue River Dr. rebuild proposal.)

Images are just for inspiration added by MCP – we have no idea what bike they are giving away. These are not the ones.
