Did you miss the October 16 deadline for Right of Entry forms for household hazardous waste removal? Property owners affected by the Holiday Farm Fire can still submit a Right of Entry form as long as cleanup in our area has not been started by the EPA (which could happen as early as next week).
More than 300 McKenzie households have signed up for hazardous waste removal will be provided at no cost to property owners. Federal and state governments are covering the costs of household hazardous waste removal. Property owners must sign an access agreement, called a Right of Entry form, to allow cleanup crews onto their property.
Property owners affected by the Holiday Farm Fire now have a dedicated phone number (541-225-5549) to ask questions about EPA’s removal of household hazardous waste at their property or provide additional details about their property that will help speed the EPA removal work. The hotline will offer service in both English and Spanish.
Household hazardous waste includes fuel and petroleum, pool chemicals, car batteries, antifreeze, used oil filters, solvents, fertilizers, pesticides, propane tanks, disinfectants, aerosols, paint, bleach, and ammunition. Crews will also safely identify and dispose of large pieces of asbestos materials.
Oregon’s Debris Management Task Force has created an online FAQ to help answer questions about the hazardous waste cleanup process: https://wildfire.oregon.gov/cleanup.
