A List of Holiday Events in the McKenzie River Area

Beginning Monday, November 20th and running throughout the holiday season, the McKenzie River area will be hosting a variety of local seasonal events. The McKenzie Community Partnership is collaborating with other local organizations for a spectacular winter season!

Goodpasture Bridge Lighting Ceremony

Monday, November 20th, 5-7pm

ANNUAL HOLIDAY LIGHTING OF THE GOODPASTURE BRIDGE IN VIDA, OR.

Decorated with wreaths and lights, the bridge will highlight the annual festivities.

Leaburg Dam Bridge Lighting

Monday November 20th, 5-7pm

HOLIDAY DECORATING OF THE LEABURG DAM/ BRIDGE IN LEABURG, OR.

The Leaburg Bridge will be lit up by Lane County and adorned with wreaths from the Late Bloomer’s Club.

Christmas Bazaar

JOIN US FOR OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2ND FROM 9 AM-3 PM AT THE WALTERVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE VIDA MCKENZIE COMMUNITY CENTER.

It will be a family fun, friendly time with shopping, music, a visit by Santa, raffle prizes, local artisan gifts and delicious festive food and treats.

Family Advent Services

December 3rd, 6-7:30pm

JOIN US FOR A HEARTWARMING ADVENT JOURNEY AS WE CELEBRATE THE JOY AND HOPE OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON TOGETHER!

Each Sunday, we’ll gather to read a section from the Bible recounting the beautiful Christmas story. We’ll also light one of the corresponding candles of Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace, symbolizing the essence of this special season. We will then spend the majority of time doing fun activities together like decorating cookies, making greeting cards, or ornaments.

THE LAST ADVENT SERVICE WILL BE OUR CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT CAROL SERVICE.

DATES: EVERY SUNDAY LEADING UP TO CHRISTMAS

Activities Include:
– Cookie Decorating
– Crafting Greeting Cards and Ornaments
– Candlelight Carol Service on Christmas Eve

This event is open to everyone, so bring your whole family and share in the spirit of togetherness and celebration!

McKenzie Feed and Tackle’s Christmas Party

December 8th @ 9AM and December 9th @ 5pm

You are invited to McKenzie Feed and Tackle’s Christmas party on December 8th and 9th!

The store will be transformed into a winter wonderland where you will be able to shop from local artisans at our very own North Pole!

WE WILL BE HAVING IN STORE SALES, DOOR PRIZES, PRODUCT DEMOS, AND SOME AMAZING RAFFLE BASKETS!

The big man will make an appearance for pictures with Santa and we will have goodies and hot cider!

This year our raffle ticket proceeds will go to Community Cat Advocacy of Springfield.

This donation will help continue the important work they do to improve the lives of homeless cats and the kittens born to them.

Please come show support and enjoy the fun!

Holiday Bridge Lighting Celebration

December 9th, 5-8:30pm

JOIN US AT THE UPPER MCKENZIE COMMUNITY CENTER FOR OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY BRIDGE LIGHTING CELEBRATION!

The festivities begin at 5pm as we watch the raft parade float by! I think I see Santa in that raft!!

We will then ceremoniously light the Belknap Bridge (thanks to Lane Electric) with Christmas Caroling and Holiday Cheer!

Back inside the UMCC Santa will be waiting, along with photo ops!

We’ll also have a Holiday Potluck, so bring your favorite Holiday dish to share! And please bring your own table service.

Holiday Dinner and Open House

December 12th, 6-8:30pm

JOIN A COMMUNITY DINNER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

Even Santa will be there!

Visiting and displays begin at 6 p.m., dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., and the program will be at 7:30 p.m.

THE WALTERVILLE GRANGE WILL PROVIDE THE TURKEY, HAM, MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY.

You may bring a side dish or dessert to share, and consider also bringing canned food as a donation to the Up River Food Pantry.

Blue Christmas Gathering

December 21st, 4-5:30pm

Christmas joy can be hard for those who grieve and struggle.

AN INFORMAL SOLSTICE DAY SERVICE THAT ACKNOWLEDGES THE SEARCH FOR LIGHT IN DARK TIMES.

We will light candles in remembrance.

Christmas Eve Service

December 24th, 5-6:30pm

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO GATHER IN THE SANCTUARY FOR A TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP WITH CAROLS AND CANDLES.

There will be  a special time for children during the service.
